I may have to become a painter sooner rather than later. Just as I finished this photo for a juried show coming up Big Bertha, my printer, printed her last print and died (funeral to be announced). If my friend George, another photographer from the gallery hadn't come to my rescue this would still be trapped in my computer. Printers are not cheap and are kind of an essential to be a photographer. Oh well it's only money and I definitely have little right now. If you want to make money do not go into the arts world. If you want to follow your passion than this it.

"Dreams" was almost taken by accident. I was leaving the harbour in my small town after a rather discouraging afternoon of shooting. I looked up and saw the amazing sky and boats. I didn't even get out of Lady, just opened the window and took my shot not expecting much. This photo was choosen to show at Convergence, the annual juried show at the Tom Thompson Gallery. All I could think of, is this huge. Wow.

Hi.....I am Valerie Cargo, a fine art photographer. This is my first post to Briar Rose blog and I hope I get it right. I'm not used to writing about myself and what I do. Usually I express myself through my photos. First I suppose I should upload a few of my photos for you to see. It's one thing to say I am a photographer and another to prove it. Hope you like what you see and will visit often.
